Tillie's Story
Tillie is a 2011 brown jennet sired by our original herd sire, Willow Creek Luigi, ADMS National Champion Donkey and multiple NMDA champion jack. Her mother was Windy Willow's Sapphire, dam of multiple NDMA champions. In fact, Tillie's full sister was Frontier Legends Nellie Cashman, NMDA and ADMS National Champion. I showed Tillie at several shows as a foal and as a yearling, and she did well in the show arena as evidenced by her show record.
Tillie has been a great producer for Appalachian Farmstead. Her three foals have all been by WLDF Tin Roof Sunday, our spotted multiple National Champion herd sire. Tillie's first foal was Farmstead's Banjo, a 4 year old spotted gelding who has won multiple NMDA and ACOSA championships. Her second foal was Farmstead's Violet Mary, a black NLP jennet who had a nice show record as a yearling and then was sold to Wee Ones Farm in Gallatin, TN as a future brood jennet for their herd. Her third foal, Farmstead's Mo Jefferson, was also a black NLP jennet born late summer 2019 and was sold in 2020 to a young family in Chattanooga, TN as a future show and brood jennet.
Tillie and her 2021 foal, Farmstead's Thelma Lou, have been sold to the Parsley family in Greenville, TN.
